From Florida to the Pacific Northwest and Back: 10,000 Miles, 19 National Parks, and a Journey Home

This year’s RV adventure has been one of our biggest yet! We set out from our winter locationin Florida and made our way all the way to the Pacific Northwest before turning back east to our original home state of Pennsylvania. What started as a simple plan for routine checkups and visits with friends and family turned into an unforgettable 10,000+ mile road trip filled with breathtaking landscapes, bucket-list stops, and special moments with our three dogs—Khaleesi, Maximus, and Tia.

Why the Long Haul Back East

Every year, we return to Pennsylvania for our annual physicals and to make sure our pups are up-to-date with their veterinarian visits. It’s also a chance to reconnect with friends and family, share stories from the road, and ground ourselves before the next big adventure. But this time, instead of taking a direct route, we decided to turn the trip into something much bigger—a coast-to-coast loop that allowed us to chase cooler weather, see new parts of the country, and explore as many National Parks as we could along the way.

19 National Parks—Each With Its Own Magic

Over the course of our journey, we visited 19 National Parks across the U.S. From the dramatic canyons and deserts of the Southwest to the towering evergreens of the Pacific Northwest and the geysers of Yellowstone, each park had something unique to offer. We hiked, camped, and took in views that words can hardly capture. Every stop reminded us why we chose this lifestyle—traveling not just to see places, but to experience them fully.

Some highlights included:

  • Standing in awe of Yellowstone’s geysers, hot springs, and the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone.

  • Soaking in the stunning mountain views of the Grand Tetons.

  • Driving the legendary Going-to-the-Sun Road in Glacier National Park.

  • Gazing up at the towering giants of Sequoia National Park.

The Journey in Miles and Memories

By the time we rolled back into Pennsylvania, our odometer told the story: 10,659 miles traveled. That’s a lot of fuel stops, campground stays, winding mountain roads, and coffee-fueled early mornings. But every mile was worth it. Along the way, we met fellow travelers, swapped stories around campfires, and created memories that will last us a lifetime.

Back Home, But Not for Long

Now that we’re in Pennsylvania, it’s time for appointments, family dinners, and catching up with friends. But as full-time RV travelers, we know this is only a pause before the next adventure begins. With every trip, we’re reminded just how vast and beautiful this country is—and how grateful we are to live this lifestyle.

Until the wheels start rolling again, we’ll be soaking up this time at “home,” knowing that the open road is always calling.
